Meet the Team

Alyssa Gold, OTR/ L

I have worked in a variety of different settings such as sensory gyms, preschools, private schools, in home therapy, nursing homes and rehab facilities. I work with kids with a variety of diagnosis including ADD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Delays, Sensory Processing Disorders, Down Syndrome, genetic disorders and chromosomal abnormalities. I use the Listening Program, Sensory Integration, Handwriting Without Tears, Keyboarding Without Tears along with other treatment modalities.

My approach to occupational therapy is looking at the child as a whole and determining their underlying difficulties. Using a multi- sensory approach, I individualize therapy to meet each child’s needs. I work closely with your child’s team including teachers, therapists and other outside providers. Parents and families play a key role in therapy to support the child outside of therapy sessions to meet their goals. I empower kids to reach their full potential and make therapy fun and engaging!

Alyssa has been wonderful to work with and has helped my son with his sensory needs. My 4 year old hated getting messy, wearing socks or touching certain textures. Alyssa has helped us immensely with implementing sensory play into his daily life and helping him to overcome these aversions. Our son loves his "play time" with Alyssa and we have learned so much as parents so we can continue helping him throughout the week. We can now play in sandboxes and put our socks and shoes on before leaving the house without a meltdown! We can't recommend OT with Alyssa enough!

Samantha V, parent

Alyssa was great to collaborate with. She worked with one of my students and provided me with strategies on how to best support him in the classroom using a sensory diet. Ever since Alyssa started working with my student, he has made great strides in the classroom and we have seen improvement in his regulation and ability to complete schoolwork.

Caryn G, Public School Social Worker

Definitely work with Alyssa! She has been by my side to help with numerous concerns regarding milestones in the last 12 months. She always comes up with the best strategies and advice to ensure my daughter improves. She is personabable and is always there to answer any question I have. I could not reccommend her more!

Blake G, parent

Our 6 year old daughter has always had difficulty with fine motor tasks and now being in school, we noticed her handwriting was lagging behind her peers. Alyssa has been so helpful in both her direct sessions with our daughter, as well as, providing us with "homework" and activties to work on regularly to help our daughter make as much progress as possible. Her teachers have even commented on how her legibility has improved greatly even after just a few weeks. Alyssa came highly recommended from a friend and now we know why!
